Restriction enzymes recognize and cut DNA at specific base sequences. They are one of the essential tools for biotechnology. Kit provides DNA samples predigested by various restriction enzymes and will demonstrate cleavage patterns by electrophoresis. Reagents for six gels «M,17[M dash]» two to four students per gel. Includes instructions. Required, but not included: horizontal cell, power supply, microwave oven or hot plate, water bath, balance, standard glassware, distilled or deionized H2O. Highly recommended: visible light box, automatic micropipet to deliver 40 «M,50[mu lower case]»l.
