Add this accessory to the Air Core Solenoid to measure the force experienced by a conducting loop carrying an electric current when it is placed in a magnetic field. The Accessory fits onto the end plate of the Solenoid to form a sensitive beam balance with the conducting loop at the center of the Solenoid and the other end of the beam outside the field. Fractional counterweights are used to re-balance the beam when the field and current are applied, allowing the force to be calculated to verify the Biot-Savart relationship. Also illustrates Lorentz’ Law. Requires 2A DC power supply, sold separately.
