Any aqueous solution that contains a mixture of a weak acid and its salt, or a weak base and its salt, behaves as a buffer solution. In this experiment, three different buffer solutions will be prepared and studied by adding strong acids and bases and monitoring the pH changes. Great opportunity to put the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation to work in real-life applications. Requires a pH meter. Includes materials for 15 set-ups.
