An introductory kit includes all the materials you’ll need to illustrate the differences between elements, compounds and mixtures. Emphasis is placed on separation of mixtures with activities involving solubility, filtration, chromatography and evaporation. Experiments can be repeated twice. The study unit includes reproducible activity sheets, vocabulary sheet, lab exercises and a quiz to reinforce concepts. The kit contains filter paper, chromatography paper, one bottle of black ink, and one vial each of copper sulfate, sulfur, copper carbonate, and sodium chloride. Materials supplied for 28 students.
