By measuring absorbance of standard solutions they prepare, students can determine the equilibrium constant of reactions that take place in solution. In addition, students then vary the concentration of reactants to obtain different rates of absorbance. The experiment may be conducted over two one-hour lab periods and comes with enough materials for 15 setups. The use of a spectrophotometer is required.
