A handy and versatile tool for exploring electric generators and motors, this compact DC generator is housed in a transparent case that allows students to see the mechanical gearing of the crank drive as well as the electrical connection to the built-in miniature lamp and output socket. The generator can produce up to 12V DC, and is rated at 2.3A at 7.5V. Polarity of the output depends on the direction of rotation of the crank handle. You can also use the generator to power circuits showing basic electric phenomena such as series and parallel connection, electrolysis, and charging of a capacitor. When using our 1-Farad capacitor, CP32248-50, you can show energy storage and even have the charged capacitor drive the generator as a motor. Includes connecting cords and instructions.
