You can use this Cs-137/Ba-137 Isogenerator Set to perform nuclear physics experiments, such as Gaussian or normal distribution, generation elution, parent/daughter equilibrium, and the half-life of Barium-137m.
The set also demonstrates the operating characteristics of a radiation detector. An ion exchange column is pre-loaded with Cesium-137 (activity of 10µCi). As soon as the solution is added, the short-lived gamma radiation (Barium-137) is released. If there is any spillage, the solution has a half-life of no longer than an hour and does not present a contamination problem. The isogenerator is exempt from licensing requirements.
Each kit is supplied with the generator, syringe tube, 250ml of solution and a convenient storage case.
