In this experiment, DNA markers and plasmid DNA fragments obtained by restriction enzyme digestion are mapped using agarose gel electrophoresis. Reagents for 8 gels—2 to 4 students per gel. Includes instructions. Required, but not included: horizontal cell, power supply, rulers, transparent cellulose acetate sheet, distilled or deionized H2O. Highly recommended: visible light box, staining tray package, automatic micropipet to deliver 40 ìl.
