Easily interchangeable configurations, precision geared mirror drive, and high quality 0.0001mm resolution optics make this instrument ideal for precise wavelength determinations, refractive index measurements, and other demanding optical work. The base consists of a substantial casting that supports a machined and ground lathe bed at a convenient height for observation. The large coarse adjustment knob sets the mirror position to within 0.01 mm, read on a 205 mm divided steel scale and a numbered dial for fractions of a millimeter. A further graduated fine adjustment knob reads to 0.0001 mm, and is an excellent control for precise displacements and ring counting. High quality optical glass, with surfaces flat to within 1/4 wavelength of green light, enable crisp, clear images across the visible spectrum.
Instrument includes a 3x fixed focus telescope with diopter adjustment for viewing remotely located fringe patterns and a 70 mm diameter ground, glass screen with a 5 mm pitch grid for easy setup, and viewing projected localized fringes. Also includes operation manual.
