This lightweight apparatus features three settings — pulse, 6000 rpm, and 10,000 rpm. The rapid slow down allows for 10,000rpm to stop in just 20 seconds. A safety switch also prevents operation with an open lid. The rotor, with two sample rings, allows for different rcf factors and is easy to load with samples. A 16 position rotor for 1.5 or 2.0mL tubes ensures each position is clearly marked. Impact-resistant polymer housing assures durability in the lab, and forced air ventilation keeps the motor cool.
