This unit provides the same features as large water ripple tanks, but in a smaller size that's perfect for desktop lab activities. Wave phenomena of reflection, diffraction, refraction and interference can all be easily demonstrated using the built-in vibration wave generator and LED strobe to send visible waves through a tank of water. Students can experiment by changing the frequency of the waves and strobe light varying intervals to simulate a range of wave patterns, or sync both to create a perceived stillness, no matter how quickly the waves are moving. Tank includes a single and dual point source and a line wave source. Unit also includes concave, convex, straight and open slit barriers to investigate reflection and diffraction. Water tank measures 5 inches square.
