Neodymium Magnets

The range of new magnetic materials based on mixtures of the rare earth elements has revolutionized permanent magnet technology, allowing the development of a wide array of improved products from high quality miniature headphones through powerful micromotors to stronger latches. Rare earth magnets, and especially Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) magnets, have much greater field strengths and a much higher resistance to demagnetization than other magnetic materials. The maximum magnetic energy NdFeB can deliver ranges from 26 to 48 Magagauss-Oersteds. Maximum values for Alnico and ferrite (ceramic) are 7.5 and 3.5MGOe respectively. Our Neodymium Magnets introduce your students to the amazing properties of the new strong magnets. They are available in pairs in three types. The larger cylindrical magnets are of stronger material (37MGOe).
