An excellent review and reinforcement activity for high school chemistry students, this card game asks students to first build the pH scale.
The next step is to place the corresponding hydrogen ion and hydroxide ion concentrations next to the correct pH.
Students note the trend that as hydrogen ion concentration increases, pH decreases and that as hydroxide ion concentration increases the pH increases.
Students then use clues to place common liquids at the appropriate pH.
This kit was developed by Jessica Lyons.
It includes instructions and four sets of cards for use in small groups.
