Containing a white board 58 x 46cm in size, the Ray Optics Demonstration Set is large enough for classroom presentations yet is portable for your convenience. Includes thirteen large acrylic optical models with magnetized coatings on their bases, allowing rapid setup and adjustment. When used with our Laser Ray Box, the light ray paths are clearly visible in a normally-illuminated room, both in air and inside the models. The paths can be clearly followed through several successive model elements, allowing the ray diagrams of simple optical instruments to be demonstrated. The models include four double-convex lenses of three different focal lengths, one double-concave lens, one plano-concave lens, two semi-circular blocks of different sizes, one parallel-sided block, one prism, and three mirrors, one plane, one convex and one concave. Additionally included for your convenience is a set of six full-size setup sheets, each 30cm x 40cm, printed on flexible white plastic with magnetized strips top and bottom for easy placement on the whiteboard. The arrangements shown include a cross-section of the human eye for demonstrating the correction of near- and far-sightedness with spectacles, a camera, a Galilean telescope, a Kepler telescope, spherical aberration of lenses and its correction, and an angle scale for reflection and refraction experiments. A seventh sheet without magnetized strips identifies the different lens types. The whiteboard is constructed of sturdy steel with built-in swiveling foot which allows it to stand vertically on a table, and a pair of holes in the upper rim for attachment to a wall. The Ray Optics Demonstration Set requires a light source for parallel beams of light. We recommend our Laser Ray Box, sold separately.
