What lies along the basin of a river? Series of “hands-on” activities allow students to use key earth science concepts by conducting a mineral exploration of river sediments. Students learn about topographic maps, various rock types, erosion and river dynamics. Kit includes simulated river sediments, detailed topographic maps of a river system in a mountainous region, testing solutions and apparatus. Each sample site can be tested a minimum of 50 individual times. Includes student worksheets.
