(EDVOõkit 223) The GFP gene was isolated and cloned from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. In this experiment, transformants acquire the green (GFP) fluorescent protein containing plasmid. The transformant colonies, which contain the gfp protein, appear visibly green and will fluoresce when exposed to long wave UV light. Kit includes instructions and materials for 10 tranformations. An incubator, two waterbaths, and micropipets, required, are available separately.
